• Histopathology
• Aerobic culture of 2 of the following: placenta, fetal lung, liver, or stomach contents. Limit of 2 susceptibilities per case.
• PCR for bovine: BVD, Leptospira, IBR, Neospora
• PCR for canine: herpesvirus, Leptospira, Neospora
• PCR for equine: EHV 1 and 4, Leptospira, Equine Viral Arteritis
• PCR for porcine: Leptospira, PRRS, PCV-2, Porcine Parvovirus
• PCR for small ruminants: Toxoplasma, Chlamydophila, Leptospira, Bluetongue, Neospora

Additional testing not listed will be an extra charge.

• Fetuses, multiple only if from the same pregnancy/litter
• Fixed tissues: liver, lung, kidney, heart, spleen, brain, skeletal muscle, placenta if at all possible. Can submit other organs as needed.
• Refrigerated tissues: placenta, fetal lung, stomach fluid, heart, brain, and/or spleen/thymus/kidney/liver

• Leak-proof container for fresh tissue.

• Ship fresh tissue/fetuses with cold packs.
• Small ruminant abortion cases should be labeled “High Risk” on the submission form and primary container.
