One-Health Rabies Laboratory

Mizzou’s One Health-Rabies Laboratory provides rabies serology testing for humans and animals, supporting pet travel and export requirements, vaccine response monitoring, research studies, clinical trials and assay development. The lab offers a range of rabies antibody tests with results typically available within 7–10 business days. We do not have additional/hidden fees.

The One Health-Rabies Laboratory is recognized by the USDA to perform rabies serology testing for pet export and travel and is a CDC-approved and EU-approved laboratory for animal rabies antibody titration testing.

Please contact the laboratory for destination-specific requirements before submission.

Resources

Sample requirements:

  • Submit 0.5 mL to 2.0 mL of serum.
  • Use a leakproof container.
  • Ship with a cold pack.
  • Overnight or two-day shipping is strongly recommended (FedEx or UPS shipping is preferred).

Include with shipment:

  • Completed submission form.
  • Place paperwork in a separate bag from the sample to prevent damage if leakage occurs.

Note: VMDL FedEx billable stamps may also be used for shipping.
