| Container | - Swabs should be shipped in appropriate transport media.
- Tissues should be in a leak-proof primary container with air excluded (e.g. Whirl-Pak) or wrapped in sterile saline-soaked gauze and placed in an airtight container.
- A known pure culture can be submitted on an agar slant, sealed plate, or on a swab with transport media.
