- Bone marrow aspirate samples are best interpreted in light of current CBC findings. Include with submission fresh blood smears and a copy of current CBC results (w/in 24 hours of bone marrow collection) or fresh blood smears and EDTA-anticoagulated blood for CBC to be performed in our laboratory. If the CBC is to be performed in our laboratory it will be charged in addition to the bone marrow examination.
