Sample type
  • Live animal: nasal swab, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, tracheal wash
  • Dead animal: lung or trachea – 50 g of tissue is sufficient.
Container
  • Leak-proof primary container for tissue
  • Swabs must be kept moist; use viral transport media or place swab in red top tube with 1-2 ml sterile saline
Special submission instructions
  • Tissue must be fresh, not in formalin.
  • Ship with cold packs.
