  • Live animal: conjunctival or vaginal swab
  • Dead animal: mixed tissue containing lung, spleen, kidney, lymph node, liver, thymus

  • Leak-proof primary container for tissue
  • Swabs must be kept moist; use viral transport media or place swab in red top tube with 1-2 ml sterile saline.
  • Swabs from multiple sites may be placed in the same tube.
Special submission instructions
  • Tissue must be fresh, not in formalin.
  • Ship with cold packs.
