- Leak-proof primary container for tissue
- Swabs must be kept moist; use viral transport media or place swab in red top tube with 1-2 ml sterile saline.

| Special submission instructions | - Do NOT use swabs containing calcium alginate.
- Rub swab vigorously against mucous membranes when collecting samples.
- Tissues must be fresh, not in formalin.
- Ship all samples with cold packs.
