Special submission instructions
  • Provide 2 – 3 mL of serum or plasma.
  • If only a small volume of sample is available for testing, contact the lab prior to shipping.
  • If possible separate serum/plasma prior to shipping.  Serum can be placed into a unused royal blue top tube or all plastic leak-proof container.
  • Ship sample with a cold packs.
  • Samples not collected in a royal blue top tube will still be analyzed but the Zinc value might be artificially elevated due to leaching of zinc from the rubber stopper.
