Special submission instructions
  • Centrifuge blood and collect serum. Transfer to a sterile container without additive such as a red top tube.
  • Provide 5- 10 ml of ocular fluid. Vitreous humor is preferred but aqueous humor or ocular fluid is acceptable. Alternatively, the whole eye can be submitted.
  • Keep serum and ocular fluids refrigerated before shipping.
  • Ship with cold packs.
  • If only a small sample is available for testing, contact the lab prior to shipping.
