Interpretation of RFFIT Endpoint Result
Reported Result | Interpretation |
“LESS THAN 0.1 IU/mL” | RVNA NOT detected |
“>/=0.1 – <0.5 IU/mL” | RVNA detected below acceptable response |
“>/= 0.5 IU/mL” | RVNA detected at acceptable response or above |
Interpretation of RFFIT Screen Result
Reported Result | Interpretation |

Value between 0.1 to 15.0 IU/mL | RVNA detected |

For humans – a rabies virus neutralizing antibody (RVNA) result of 0.5 IU/mL or higher is considered an acceptable response to rabies vaccination per the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommendations and the World Health Organization guidelines. Results are confidential personal health information. All disclosures must be in accordance with HIPAA.
For animals – there is no proven level of protection for an animal. Per the World Organisation for Animal Health, 0.5 IU/mL is the minimum neutralizing antibody level for evidence of seroconversion after rabies vaccination.
